M600i & Symbian OS+UIQ3
I finally found the local agents for Sony Ericsson in Colombo, and managed to pick up a M600i. The reviews for this have mostly been great but since it doesn’t have a camera nor does it have WiFi, some people decide to ignore it.
However, if taking shoddy pictures isn’t a priority and with 3G (UMTS), does one really need WiFi? Since shifting to DSLR, all these ‘integrated camera’ jobbies just don’t feel right, but at times it does come in handy for various things. I may have to look into something like a Casio Exilim (tiny and portable)…
The phone is sturdy and the keys have a very nice backlight. The OS is great and I’ve got 3G, GPRS and emails all setup including RSS feeds. This has been made with a sole purpose - to satisfy the needs of PDA+Mobility - and this has been done very nicely. I’m quite happy with this and would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent mobile to upgrade to.
Christmas is around the corner, and most people are buzzing about getting their shopping sorted. Today I managed to pick up some gifts, apart from other things, but will be busy over the next few days.
