Conroe Special: E6600 @ 3.6GHz!
As I got to the lab I slapped in my XP disc and booted the USB thinggy and flashed the BIOS to F5d after setting the speed to stock settings. Even though I was risking it, I decided to boot up at 9*400….yes 3.600GHz!
Well was I shocked when my Corsair RAM rated at 667MHz DDR2, does 800MHz DDR2? I set VDimm to +0.35v, VCore to 1.55v (1.50v after Vdroop) and +0.3v for the FSB and (g)MCH. Booted into windows and found that my core temps were scary high on this stock hsf by intel…well duh :p
